This a serious project, and the biggest one that Caring Hands has taken on so far. We have helped build five other facilities here in Uganda while assisting other missionary organizations, but Kasensero HOL would become our new flagship school. We are all very excited about the prospects of bringing formal education to Kasensero, and giving these local children a chance to fulfill their dreams in life. All this comes with a price tag of course, and in this case, the experts have estimated the cost for the entire project to be close to 600,000 US dollars. Should it be necessary, one of our ideas is to build the project in three phases. The first phase would consist of the completion of all three classroom buildings as a unit, but using one of the structures as a temporary administration building with the other two buildings employed as classrooms until funds arrive for the later phases of construction. The first phase would also include the construction of at least one elevated pit latrine with plumbing included for the possible change over to a pressurized flushing system in the future. The second and third phases would include a separate administration building, kitchen, dining hall, two dormitories and two student proctor apartments constructed in such order as the building committee deems best. With completion of the entire project, we expect an enrollment of 200 to 300 primary care students. Tuition fees will be charged, and we will determine which students will pay fees as opposed to the true orphans who will also represent a percentage of our enrollment. Your help in sponsoring a child’s education or even a teacher’s salary will be instrumental to the school’s success, but more about that later.
Thanks again for listening. We need your help. The kids need a way out. Go online and make a donation or call me at (563) 514-2742 or email me at “dr.chas@me.com”.
Making a difference,
